VA tests 'Stand-and-Roll' wheelchair to fight Sitting's harmful effects
NCT ID NCT04668326
Summary
This study is testing a special wheelchair that allows people with spinal cord injuries to stand up and move around while standing. The goal is to see if this new design helps veterans stand more often in their daily lives, which could reduce health problems caused by sitting too much. About 48 veterans will try one of two types of standing wheelchairs at home for two months. Researchers will measure how much they stand and how useful the wheelchair is for daily activities.
