Blood test aims to keep heart failure patients out of the hospital

NCT ID NCT02963272

Summary

This study tested whether giving doctors the results of a specific blood test (ST2) could help them better manage patients hospitalized for heart failure. The goal was to see if using this information could reduce the number of patients who need to be readmitted to the hospital within one month. Researchers compared outcomes for patients whose doctors had access to the ST2 test results versus those whose doctors did not.
