Brain radiation boost may extend cancer control in lung and melanoma patients

NCT ID NCT05522660

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a precise form of radiation (stereotactic radiosurgery) to standard drug therapy can better control brain metastases in people with melanoma or non-small cell lung cancer. About 180 participants with newly diagnosed, untreated brain metastases will be randomly assigned to receive either standard systemic treatment alone or standard treatment plus radiation. The goal is to see which approach delays brain tumor growth and maintains quality of life.
