First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block called SPSIPB to see if it reduces pain and helps people recover faster after open-heart surgery. 70 adults having elective open-heart surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the SPSIPB or standard pain management. The main goal was to measure how much pain medication they needed in the first 24 hours after surgery.
