Swallow a sponge, skip the scope? new test aims to spot cancer early
NCT ID NCT03961945
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple 'sponge-on-a-string' device, swallowed like a pill, can accurately detect Barrett's esophagus and early esophageal cancer. It aims to provide a less invasive alternative to endoscopy for screening people at risk. The research will measure how well the test works in about 1,550 participants, including those with and without chronic acid reflux.
