First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether spironolactone, a medication typically used for heart failure, can reduce stiffness in the main artery of patients with a thoracic aortic aneurysm. Fifty adults with an enlarged aorta will receive either spironolactone or a placebo for a short period. The goal is to see if the drug improves artery flexibility, which could help manage the condition and lower the risk of complications.
