Could a Post-Birth pill protect Moms' hearts?

Summary
This study is testing if a 3-month course of the medication spironolactone, started soon after delivery, can help control blood pressure and improve heart health in women who had high blood pressure during pregnancy and have overweight or obesity. Researchers want to see if this short-term treatment can have lasting benefits, reducing the risk of developing chronic high blood pressure and heart problems later in life. The trial will involve 204 women and will measure blood pressure and heart structure nine months after they give birth.
