Spine tissue may reveal silent heart disease in older adults

Summary
This study looks at tissue removed during back surgery to find early signs of a heart condition called transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA). Researchers will test over 1,600 adults aged 50 and older who had spine surgery. The goal is to catch the disease early, when treatments work best, and to see how common it is in this group.
