Listening to nerves during surgery: can more monitoring mean fewer problems?

NCT ID NCT05110833

Summary

This study aims to improve the safety of spine surgery by better understanding how real-time nerve monitoring works. Researchers will observe 500 adults undergoing neck or upper back surgery at a Minnesota hospital, tracking how often nerves are checked during the operation and whether that affects recovery. The goal is to refine the warning system surgeons use to avoid nerve damage.
