New 3D scanner aims to make spine surgery more precise

Summary
This early study tests a new 3D scanning device that may help surgeons see the spine more clearly during surgery. About 10 adults having spine surgery will be included. The goal is to see if the scanner can accurately match the patient's spine to their MRI or CT scan, which could improve surgical precision.
