Spinal zap tested to unfreeze Parkinson's walkers

NCT ID NCT02381951

Summary

This small, exploratory study tested whether a device that stimulates the spinal cord could improve walking problems in people with Parkinson's disease. It involved five patients whose walking and 'freezing' episodes were not adequately controlled by their regular medications. The goal was to see if this stimulation technique, commonly used for pain, could help them walk more easily.
