New nerve block technique may cut morphine use after spine surgery

NCT ID NCT06200298

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a specific nerve block (erector spinae plane block) can reduce the amount of morphine needed for pain after minimally invasive spinal fracture surgery. About 86 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the block lowers morphine use by at least 30% in the first 24 hours after surgery.
