Zapping the spine to help SCI patients breathe easier

NCT ID NCT06019949

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of breathing exercises and gentle electrical stimulation to the spinal cord can improve lung function in people with chronic spinal cord injury. Researchers aim to see if this combined approach works better than either treatment alone. The goal is to develop a new rehabilitation method to help control serious breathing problems, which are a leading cause of death for people with this type of injury.
