Zapping the spine to help SCI patients breathe easier

NCT ID NCT03998527

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of non-invasive spinal cord stimulation and specific training exercises can improve breathing, arm, and trunk muscle function in people with spinal cord injuries. Researchers are comparing different types of training combined with stimulation to see which approach works best. The goal is to gather information that could lead to better rehabilitation treatments for people with impaired lung and muscle function after a spinal cord injury.
