Summary
This study aimed to understand why people with spina bifida often experience bowel control problems. Researchers examined colon tissue samples from 36 adults with spina bifida to look for changes in gut nerves and tissue barriers. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about how spina bifida affects bowel function, which could eventually lead to better treatments.
