Summary

This study tested a new scoring system (4PEPS) to help emergency doctors decide if a patient with symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath really needs a lung scan for a blood clot. Over 3,000 patients across 20 hospitals took part. The goal was to see if using the score could safely reduce the number of scans compared to usual care.
