Can epilepsy erase your mental map? scientists test memory over time

NCT ID NCT06847152

Summary

This study aims to understand how temporal lobe epilepsy affects long-term spatial memory, like remembering a route. Researchers will compare how 37 people with epilepsy and healthy volunteers perform on a navigation task after learning it, testing their memory again one hour and six weeks later. The goal is to see if people with epilepsy forget the route faster and if the side of the brain affected by epilepsy makes a difference.
