First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether combining a mild electrical stimulation of the spinal cord with balance training can improve postural control and reduce fall risk in people who had a stroke over a year ago. Sixteen community-dwelling adults will be randomly assigned to receive either real or sham stimulation during balance exercises. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and improves confidence and movement.
