Blood test reveals why lung cancer drugs stop working

NCT ID NCT03833934

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at 62 people with ALK-positive lung cancer whose tumors had stopped responding to newer targeted drugs. Instead of a tissue biopsy, researchers used a simple blood test (liquid biopsy) to find genetic changes that cause drug resistance. The goal was to better understand these resistance patterns and help doctors choose the next treatment more effectively.
