Extended safety testing for promising epilepsy drug in children

Summary
This study aimed to check the long-term safety of an experimental drug called soticlestat when added to existing seizure medications. It involved 156 children and young adults with severe, hard-to-treat forms of epilepsy, including Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut syndromes. Participants took the drug twice daily and were monitored for side effects and changes in behavior and seizure frequency over an extended period.
