New drug tested to help japanese patients breathe easier with serious lung disease

NCT ID NCT05818137

Summary

This study tested whether adding a new drug called Sotatercept to existing treatments could help Japanese adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious condition where high blood pressure damages the lungs and heart. The 46 participants received Sotatercept injections for 24 weeks while continuing their standard PAH medications. Researchers measured changes in lung blood pressure, walking ability, and heart strain to see if the add-on treatment improved their condition.
