First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether Songling Xuemaikang capsules can help people with high blood pressure who also have cerebral small vessel disease, a condition that damages tiny blood vessels in the brain and can lead to dementia or movement problems. About 90 adults aged 55-75 will receive either the herbal capsule or a placebo for one year, alongside their usual blood pressure medications. The main goal is to see if the capsule slows the growth of white matter lesions on brain scans, which are signs of vessel damage.
