Could a common drug ease painful jaw clicking?
NCT ID NCT07487675
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding the drug sodium valproate to a standard jaw-washing procedure can lower inflammation in people with a painful jaw joint condition. Ten female participants with jaw clicking and pain will receive the drug intravenously during the procedure. Researchers will measure changes in an inflammatory protein called IL-6 to see if the combination works better than the procedure alone.
