First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a toothpaste with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and fluoride can help maintain gum health in adults who have already had non-surgical gum disease treatment. One hundred participants will use either the special toothpaste or a placebo for six months, while researchers check plaque, bleeding, and pocket depths. The goal is to see if this simple daily habit can keep gums healthy and prevent disease from coming back.
