First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether referring lonely older adults with diabetes to a social worker can help them feel less lonely and improve their blood sugar control (A1C). About 90 seniors will be randomly assigned to either meet with a social worker or continue their usual care. Researchers will check loneliness levels and A1C after 6 months to see if the social support makes a difference.
