First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether seeing a picture of a supportive person can help people with social anxiety feel less afraid. Researchers will show participants either a photo of someone they trust or a stranger while they learn to associate a neutral image with a mild electric shock. The goal is to see if social support reminders can prevent fear from taking hold in anxious individuals.
