First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a visual storybook, called a Social Story, can help children with autism feel less anxious and cooperate better when getting anesthesia before surgery. About 40 children will either receive the storybook to review at home or standard instructions. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach makes the experience smoother and less stressful.
