Research links social rejection to poorer sleep and heart strain

NCT ID NCT03937973

Summary

This study aimed to understand how negative social experiences, specifically race-based rejection, affect sleep and heart function. Researchers compared sleep and heart measurements in African American and Caucasian American adults after a social rejection task versus a calm control task. The goal was to see if these stressful experiences could help explain health disparities in heart disease.
