Summary
This study tested a peer education program where people already on methadone (a medication for opioid addiction) were trained to talk to friends in their social network who inject drugs, some of whom have HIV. The goal was to help more people get into drug treatment and HIV care. The study enrolled 241 participants and measured how many network members started drug treatment.
