Social media detox: new study tests mindfulness and exercise for student anxiety

Summary
This study looks at whether reducing social media use and replacing it with exercise, or practicing mindfulness meditation, can help college students feel less anxious and depressed. Three hundred students who use social media heavily will be split into three groups: one that does nothing different, one that meditates, and one that cuts social media and exercises instead. The study lasts two weeks and checks mood, screen time, and well-being before, right after, and one week later.
