Social help may boost lung cancer screening

NCT ID NCT06052449

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether helping people with social needs (like housing or food) increases lung cancer screening rates. 101 adults aged 50-80 who smoke or quit recently took part. One group got a screening education tool alone; the other also got help connecting to social services. The goal was to see if addressing social barriers leads to more CT scans for lung cancer.
