New approach aims to capture social needs of overlooked patients

This study tested whether a community health surveyor can help collect social and demographic information from adult primary care patients who are often hard to reach, such as those with low income or housing issues. Researchers compared usual questionnaire methods to an enhanced approach with proactive outreach and support. The goal was to see if this improves completion of a health equity questionnaire and better captures the needs of underserved populations.
