Summary
This study tested a coaching program called Social Engage Coaching for adults aged 60 and older who feel lonely and have had thoughts of suicide. Participants worked with a trained coach in up to 10 sessions to improve their social connections and well-being. The study used surveys and smartphone tracking to measure changes in loneliness, social activity, and time spent with others. The goal was to see if this approach could help older adults feel more connected and reduce suicide risk.
