New talk therapy tested to help HIV patients kick smoking habit
NCT ID NCT04532970
Summary
This study tested two different counseling approaches to help people with HIV quit smoking. Researchers compared traditional smoking cessation counseling with a newer method called behavioral activation problem solving (BAPS). Both approaches involved phone sessions over several weeks to help participants stop smoking, with follow-up checks to see who successfully quit.
