Summary
This study tested a program to help homeless smokers quit. 25 veterans received nicotine patches, gum or lozenges, counseling, and a device to measure their breath carbon monoxide. They earned money for providing videos showing low carbon monoxide levels, which meant they hadn't smoked. The goal was to see if this reward system was practical and effective.
