Summary

This study tested a smartphone app called SMILE that teaches mindfulness to help reduce anxiety. It included 398 Black and Latino adults who had moderate anxiety. Participants used the app for 8 weeks and reported their stress levels and heart activity. The goal was to see if the app could improve mental health and well-being.
