Smartwatch vs. muscle loss: new study aims to keep strength up for people on popular Weight-Loss drugs

NCT ID NCT07226947

Summary

This study is testing whether using a smartwatch to track activity and body composition, along with exercise reminders, can help people maintain their muscle mass and strength when they start taking certain weight-loss medications (like Ozempic or Mounjaro). The goal is to see if this combination approach safely prevents the muscle loss that can sometimes happen with these drugs. Researchers will enroll 100 adults who are starting or have recently started this type of medication.
