Phone app sends lifeline to stop suicidal thoughts

NCT ID NCT05793541

Summary

This study tests whether brief, timely messages sent to a smartphone can help people use their personal safety plan to cope with suicidal thoughts. Adults recently hospitalized for suicidal thoughts will answer surveys on their phones several times a day for a month after leaving the hospital. Each time they report their thoughts, they might receive a supportive message encouraging them to use their safety plan, and researchers will see if it helps.
