Phone alerts aim to save lives after mental health crisis
NCT ID NCT06764108
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of smartphone messages and optional clinician sessions can help adults cope with suicidal thoughts and prevent suicide-related events after they leave a psychiatric hospital. 360 adults who were hospitalized for suicidal thoughts or attempts will use a smartphone app for self-monitoring. Some will receive automated messages with coping strategies, and some may have extra sessions with a clinician. The goal is to provide timely support during the high-risk months after hospitalization.
