Phone alerts tested as lifeline for suicidal thoughts after hospital
NCT ID NCT05791643
Summary
This study tested whether a smartphone app could help people manage suicidal thoughts after leaving the hospital. 103 adults who had been hospitalized for suicidal thoughts used an app that sent them random, automated reminders to use their personal safety plan or general coping strategies when they reported high distress. Researchers wanted to see if the app was easy to use and if it helped people use their coping plans more often and feel less suicidal.
