NCT ID NCT06724705
First seen May 02, 2026 ยท Last updated May 02, 2026
Summary
This study tested a smart underwear device that measures gas and microbiome activity to see if it can detect lactose intolerance. 37 adults, half with lactose intolerance and half without, wore the device after consuming lactose or a placebo (sucrose). The goal was to see if the device could reliably tell the difference between the two groups based on flatus events and a microbiome activity index.
