Can Brain-Computer interfaces boost stroke recovery?
NCT ID NCT07171073
First seen Jun 26, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether using smart technologies like brain-computer interfaces and robotic hand therapy can improve recovery in people who recently had a stroke. 200 participants will be split into four groups: three using different high-tech devices and one receiving standard therapy. Over 6-7 weeks, researchers will measure changes in movement, thinking, and quality of life to see which approach works best.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- RecoveriX (brain-computer interface), Gloreha Aria (robotic hand therapy), and E-Link (interactive rehab system)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that smart technologies help stroke patients recover motor and cognitive functions faster than standard therapy alone.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage study with no phase, so results are uncertain. The devices may not provide significant benefits over standard care, and individual responses may vary.
