AI tool aims to cut blood waste in surgery
NCT ID NCT07223853
Summary
This study is testing a new computer system designed to help doctors decide which surgery patients need blood prepared in advance. It aims to ensure patients who need a transfusion can get one safely, while avoiding unnecessary preparation and waste for those who likely won't. The tool will be tested with 50 patients at Barnes Jewish Hospital to see if it improves decisions and safety.
