App-Based therapy aims to slow down paranoia in psychosis
NCT ID NCT06568081
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests SloMo, a digital therapy that helps people with psychosis who fear harm from others. It combines face-to-face sessions with a mobile app to help users notice worries and slow down fast thinking. 150 participants across three NHS trusts will try the therapy, with researchers measuring safety, engagement, and changes in paranoia and wellbeing over 12 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
SloMo (digitally supported cognitive-behavioural therapy)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could make effective therapy for paranoia more widely available in the NHS.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage implementation study (150 people) in routine care, not a large efficacy trial. Results may not generalize, and technical or engagement issues could limit success.
