First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at whether suvorexant, a sleep medication, can improve sleep and reduce stress in people recovering from opioid use disorder. About 138 adults on medication-assisted treatment (like methadone or buprenorphine) took either suvorexant or a placebo for 8 weeks. Researchers measured sleep time, nighttime awakenings, and stress levels to see if better sleep could help prevent relapse.
