Scientists probe the sleep secrets of natural short sleepers

NCT ID NCT07584538

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how the brain controls sleep in three groups: natural short sleepers (who sleep 6 hours or less), people with idiopathic hypersomnia (who feel very sleepy during the day), and normal sleepers. Researchers will measure brain waves during a 32-hour session to see how deep sleep changes over time. The goal is to better understand the body's sleep regulation in different sleep patterns.
