This study aimed to understand if sleep problems like insomnia are linked to increased gut pain sensitivity in people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Researchers compared pain thresholds in four groups: healthy people, people with only insomnia, people with only IBS, and people with both IBS and insomnia. The goal was to see if treating sleep issues could potentially help manage IBS symptoms.
