More sleep may ward off diabetes in At-Risk adults

Summary

This study looked at whether helping people with pre-diabetes get more sleep each night can improve their blood sugar control and lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. About 150 adults who slept less than 6.5 hours per night were split into two groups: one aimed to extend sleep, the other kept their usual habits. Over 8 weeks, researchers tracked blood sugar levels using a continuous monitor to see if the sleep extension group had better glucose regulation.
