Can a good Night's sleep in the ICU prevent Post-Surgery confusion?

Summary
This study is testing whether giving a sleep-promoting medication called dexmedetomidine at night can help prevent confusion (delirium) in older adults after heart surgery. It will involve 1,800 participants aged 60+ who are scheduled for heart surgery and will stay in the ICU afterward. Researchers will compare the drug given by IV, under the tongue, or a placebo to see which best reduces confusion and improves long-term recovery.
