Experimental drug aims to prevent breathing problems after surgery

Summary
This study tested whether a single dose of an experimental drug called danavorexton could help people with moderate to severe sleep apnea breathe more easily in the recovery room after major abdominal surgery. About 180 participants were planned to receive either a high dose, low dose, or a placebo (inactive solution) during surgery to see if the drug improved breathing stability. The trial was terminated early and did not complete its enrollment goal.
